Zinc Cladding at RAF Uxbridge Project Update
Longworth were appointed by Galliford Try Building to install the Zinc Cladding to the new St. Andrews Park development at the former RAF Uxbridge site.
The Triangle site is a 249-apartment development spread over four blocks, providing 207 private rented homes.
The former RAF base includes the Battle of Britain Bunker, which controlled the UK’s air defence during the Battle of Britain.
Longworth are installing the zinc cladding using a mix of VMZINC Pigmento Brown and Red in an angled seam. The mix of VMZINC Pigmento Brown and Red panels was random generated by Longworth’s experienced Senior Designer, Paul Egan, in line with the design brief from the Architect, Pick Everard. All fixings were supplied by our trusted supply chain partner, SFS.
The zinc cladding envelopes the stair cores on each apartment block and breaks up the brick facade across the vast development.
Progress is going well and we expect to be complete by the start of April 2019.
If you are considering zinc cladding or roofing for your next project then please contact Longworth on 0845 634 1370 and we will be more than happy to help you. Our 150 years of experience and multiple award winning projects will make your next project fantastic.
