A cyclist and pedestrian bridge over the A9 was required to link up a multi-million pound education campus in Inverness.

The steel bridge over the busy trunk route connects Highlands and Islands Enterprise’s (HIE) Beechwood site on the eastern edge of the city with the Raigmore Estate, near to houses on Ashton Road.

It has been built to improve connections for students attending HIE’s campus which will be home to the University of the Highlands and Islands and Inverness College when it opens.

Longworth was employed by Morgan Sindall to clad the steel framed bridge with a timber structure, and then the final covering of Tecu Gold.
